Ultra marathon challenge

Scaling the Scottish Highlands

Our team are often on the lookout for ways to push themselves individually as well, and our Director of Operations, Sarah Towers, and Programme Director, Allan Gordon completed an impressive ultra-marathon across the remote Scottish Highlands in May. While they’re now taking time to recover and reflecting on their feat, they’ve already got more challenges in for later this year.

We walked to Canada!

We’re always keen to push ourselves as a team, which is why we took on a walking challenge together in May. Over the course of the month, we walked a combined total of 4,248km – the equivalent distance from Birmingham to Augustus, Canada!

Running, but blindfolded?

As if our team hadn’t done enough crazy challenges, one of our Consultants, Eilis Garton-Marrows, took getting out of her comfort zone to a whole new level when she completed a 12-mile blindfolded run. That’s right, she joined a group of fellow adventurers who were blindfolded and dropped off at an unknown location before running for 12 miles to find their way home.

Continuing the fitness trend, our Marketing Communications Manager, Justine Howl combined her love of exercise and a good cause by committing to swimming 21 miles throughout June and July. In doing so she has raised £250 for Macmillan.

Beating the summer heat

Throughout July, we also opted to beat the heat by completing a cold shower challenge! Every day, we either had a full cold shower, the last 30 seconds as a cold shower, or a cold water dip outside. We love a monthly challenge to bring the team together and encourage us to chat about our experiences.

Award nomination for Lacey

Our consultant, Lacey Shepherd, has been shortlisted for the Greater Birmingham Apprentice of the Year award, as part of the Greater BYPY Awards 2025. This is testament to her fantastic work at Entec Si over the past year and the whole team wishes her huge congratulations on her thoroughly well-deserved nomination.

We made the cut!

We’ve once again been ranked as one of the UK’s top consulting firms across several categories in Consultancy UK’s Top Consulting Firms guide for 2025. This is a fantastic achievement and testament to the commitment our consultants have in delivering change for good.

A workplace to be proud of

To top it all off, we’ve earned Great Place To Work certification, thanks to our wonderful people! A happy team is the best team, and we believe in the importance of investing in our company culture.
