Looking back on 30 years

2026 marks the 30-year anniversary of Entec Si, and it’s prompted me and the team to reflect on the growth, achievements and milestones that have defined the company’s journey and brought us to where we are today: a leading business change consultancy, with three decades of experience across an evolving digital landscape.

A vision realised

Personally, this milestone has allowed me to reflect on my early vision of what I wanted Entec Si to be. My ambition all those years ago was to create a thriving, people-focused business. Fast forward to today, and that vision has come to fruition, with a truly inspirational team that is empowered to deliver exceptional service and make a real difference to our clients.

Celebrating our people

Just last month, our team won the Birmingham Business Best Places to Work Award for Health and Wellbeing, reflecting our company-wide commitment to the core values of care, collaboration, commitment, integrity and versatility.

This follows Entec Si being named as one of the UK’s Best Workplaces™ 2026 and 2027 by Great Place To Work®, where we were recognised for fostering a workplace environment that encouraged our team to show up as their best selves every day. Our focus on development internally has translated into consistent delivery of complex, people-first projects and programmes for our clients.

Making change happen

Our work has been vast but varied, ranging from transforming the Library of Birmingham’s entire IT solutions as well as the services and organisational structure, to delivering a digital transformation in less than a year for a national charity, and to helping an NHS Trust understand the impact of Covid-19 on staff rotas.

Working with public sector clients means our teams must navigate complex challenges that ultimately improve the lives of citizens – but making “change for good” is all part of our ethos.

A project that stands out

One project I am most proud of was the implementation of a high profile, life-saving surgical robot for Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust (WAHT).

Our team managed the project across a number of workstreams, including coordinating the building works, recruitment and training, clinical operations and communication efforts, as well as the digital elements needed to support the installation of the robot. Successfully delivering change for good meant utilising a blended team approach from the outset, which ensured a seamless transition to new technology.

People were not only integral to the change journey but also defined its success; delivery meant improved care for patients, and greater talent attraction for the trust.

The key to our success

So, upon reflection, what is the key to our success over the last 30 years? Consistently, it’s innovation. Specifically, the people who enable innovation.

Evolving with technology

The technology landscape has changed immensely in the last three decades, from digitalisation, to automation, to AI, and we have continued to investigate and understand trends, whilst translating the benefits to our clients.

People remain at the centre

While adapting and evolving with the industry is vital, the principles of a good business never change, and it always comes back to the people. Our people are at the very heart of every successful change management programme we deliver.

For our clients, our blended team approach allows us to influence culture change by identifying skills shortages, upskilling staff to facilitate business transformation, changing internal mindsets, addressing hesitancies and empowering teams to be part of the change journey. Especially in challenging projects, being able to address genuine pain points for organisations and engage teams from the outset of transformation has been integral to our success.

Looking ahead

As technology has evolved over the years and continues to advance in today’s increasingly AI-driven world, we are constantly adapting to the changing needs of the working world. But our core principle has not changed and continues to shape the way we show up each day and approach every new project brief; we keep people at the centre of every business transformation, to deliver lasting change for good.
