Business, technology and digital transformation
I’m a senior consultant and programme manager with expertise in delivering large-scale IT and transformation projects. With a background in software engineering and project management, I combine technical insight with flexible, people-focused leadership. Passionate about mentoring, I support professional growth while driving successful outcomes for clients across public and private sectors.
“I love supporting and guiding the team, sharing my knowledge to help with their learning development journey.”
From a client perspective, it’s about delivering large-scale projects and programmes. Similarly, I provide consultancy services, such as IT strategies, business cases and requirements gathering. Something that I really love is the professional development and support I provide for colleagues and clients. I enjoy bringing people on and sharing my knowledge and experience to see them develop.
I started with a master’s degree in software engineering. So that’s the basis of my more technical understanding and knowledge. I just enjoy technology, so I do quite a lot of reading and research in my own time.
Whilst I have project management qualifications such as Prince2, I see project and programme management more about common sense and having the awareness of what’s going on around you. I always try to be flexible, both to enable solutions and workarounds, but also to fit in with different clients and the way they work, as no two are ever the same.
Working on the Library of Birmingham was a big highlight. I managed the delivery of the website CMS, AV and digital signage, meeting room fit-out and issue resolution during the opening.
I’m currently enjoying working on a housing portal for Sheffield City Council. It’s used by around 30,000 tenants to apply for social housing. We’re migrating two systems into one, which underpins a wider transformational programme.
Being able to listen to everyone’s needs is crucial, making sure that everyone is moving along on the same journey together. It’s also vital that I’m flexible, so that I can accommodate different perspectives, as listening to other people’s perspectives can often improve the delivery of a project.
For me it’s about supporting the team and mentoring them. I really love this. It’s great to see them grow and flourish as a result of the coaching and support I have given them.
I love spending time with my family, and I also very much enjoy a good walk.
Don’t stress!
When people don’t listen to what you’re saying, and waste time and effort on a project which could be avoided if they’d paid attention.
When I was growing up I always wanted to be a racing driver.
A tough one, but it would have to be a roast dinner with all the trimmings.
